ART'S ELECTRIC'S SAFETY PROGRAM

Art's Electric, Inc. has a comprehensive safety program. Proof that our safety program is effective is demonstrated by our experience modification rate(EMR). The average company in Kentucky has an experience modification rate of 1.0. Art's Electric, Inc. has had the following experience modification rates for the past 8 years: 1999- .71; 2000- .60; 2001- .60; 2002-.70; 2003- .61; 2004- .61; 2005- .62; 2006- .69. That means that every year for the last 8 years, Art's Electric has done 30 to 40% better in safety than the average company in Kentucky. That didn't happen by accident. There is a company wide commitment to safety at Art's Electric, Inc. We work at it every day.

We have received safety awards from a variety of organizations. However, the STEP Platinum Award we have received for the past several years from Associated Builders and Contractors is one of the most meaningful, because it is awarded by our peers.

Included in our routine safety program are the following:

• On staff safety director
• Drug and alcohol testing program
• Criminal records check program
• Written safety policies and procedures with employee training
• Ongoing employee training on:
        a) OSHA requirements
        b) MSHA requirements
        c) National Electrical Code requirements
        d) Accident/Injury Prevention with reporting requirements

• In house maintenance of company vehicles, equipment and small tools
• Daily inspection of tools by employees
• Quarterly tool inventory and inspection by employees
• Safety inspections by project managers per site visit
• Weekly tool box talks
• Weekly safety bulletins in paychecks
• Evaluations that rate employees on safe work habits
• Analysis of each accident or injury
• MSDS on the jobsite or available from corporate office
• Driving record checks as needed
